Stenciled Backpacks by Kids

My art campers made these! I love this procedure, and I love the fashion they turned out. We used the scrape painting technique that we are actually addicted to, and added some freezer paper stencils. It was basically a big experiment, and information technology worked! Generally. Well, in that location were a few lessons learned that I will share with you, only overall I would definitely do this again.

Supplies:

~ white cotton backpacks (I got mine on Amazon)

~ big piece of paper-thin that fits snug inside the backpack

~ painter's masking record

~ freezer paper

~ pencil

~ scissors

~ iron

~ paint (we used tempera, but that is not permanent. I would use Speedball fabric ink next fourth dimension)

~ plastic spoons

~ credit cards or expired gift cards

Process:

i. Cut a slice of cardboard that is the verbal width of the bag, and a little fleck taller. It should exist difficult to become within but ultimately you lot want the cloth to exist actually tight and so that information technology doesn't motility around when scraping the paint.

The kids were so proud of their piece of work!! I am really excited past this procedure, and have more ideas for this summer. I think it would exist really absurd to make these on sheet so make them into banners. Or flags! And then many possibilities.
